Lisa joined our team in 2019.  She has been interested in animals and nature her entire life.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from VA TECH in Blacksburg, VA before staying on 4 more years working in the Aquatic Ecology Department.

While in Blacksburg, she became friends with a veterinarian in the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. This was the start of her career in veterinary medicine. She then moved to Manassas, VA and attended the Northern Virginia Community College  Veterinary Technician Program. After graduating first in her class, she became a Licensed Veterinary Technician and began a very long career in a Surgical Referral Practice in Manassas.

Lisa has been training and competing in canine performance events since the 1990s. She started in 1994 with her shepherd mix, Josie.  When she started training her next dog, a Jack Russel Terrier named Monty, she only wanted to train with positive methods and learned how to clicker train. Since then, she has trained 3 more JRTs (Bindi, Remi, and Dexter) with clicker, and all have become AKC agility champions! She is now training her young Border Terrier, Vivi,  also with clicker. Lisa and her dogs also compete in Fast Cat, Lure Coursing  and Barn Hunt.

When not playing with her dogs, Lisa and her husband Scooter enjoy hanging out and spending time together.

Lisa loved her 5 year career as a Behavior Nurse and her work family at Animal Behavior Wellness Center. She loved having such a huge, positive impact on the lives of patients and their families.

She retired in April 2023, but has thankfully come back part time a couple of days a week as a Pharmacy Technician!
