Ian was raised in rural North Carolina, where he regularly interacted with all types of animals, from dogs and cats to horses, cows, chickens, and pigs. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned his BA in Psychology with double minors in Statistical Operations and Social and Economic Justice. After completing his undergraduate studies, Ian moved to Richmond, and worked with VCU’s Institute for Drug and Alcohol Studies. The lab he worked in focused on the adolescent (human) brain and various factors affecting its development.
